Yikes

I read the yarnharlot’s post today and thought about giving in and catching the “startitis” she is so willfully exposing the rest of us knitters to….and then, I opened the yarn closet (I haven’t even started on the drawers or containers under the bed) – and spied the crazy tangled mess within. Tonight I am organizing my stash, and while organizing I am finding the leftovers of years past when i have caught the before mentioned “startitis”… I think there are 15 – 20 projects half to 3/4 done – and more ready to go. oh my.
I may have to catch the finishing bug – any one feeling contagious?

We quilters have a way to finish projects– we call them UFOs or Unfinished Objects. (Or MIPs, Masterpieces in Progress) We choose 10 UFOs, number them 1-10 and draw a number. The number on our list that corresponds to that drawn number is the one we must finish within the appointed time, usually a month. If you have a group doing this together, there’s a sense of competition and pride that makes everyone finish. Pick another number the next month and so on.

I feel like this might actually be a tangible goal now, after organizing – Everything is in bags and the projects are labeled what they are supposed to be, with the appropriate yarn all together – we’ll see about numbers in the morning
Thanks for the tip – I like Masterpieces in progress
seems like less Work that way

Um, yes. I need a dose of “finish-itis’. Are you selling the vaccine for it here?

I’m about to finish a sweater. Nothing to assist finish-itis like finishing one project.
